Jennifer Hudson Does Not Dissapoint!

Posted on: April 6, 2011

It’s so hard to believe that Jennifer Hudson didn’t win Season 3 of American Idol. It’s even harder to believe that she didn’t even make it past the Top 7! I thought she was by far the best contestant on the show (I stopped watching her season once she was voted off), but hey, I guess everything happens for a reason. Two years after appearing on Idol, she made her film debut in Dreamgirls, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, among others. That’s an accomplishment that no other Idol contestant can say  they’ve ever reached! Her self-titled debut album earned her a Grammy for Best R&B Album.

On March 22, 2011 her sophomore album, I Remember Me, was released. This album is extremely personal to Jennifer. It reflects her life and the journeys that shes been on. I love this new album! All the tracks are amazing, well-written, and full of substance. Absolutely every song has Jennifer written all over it! Some notable songs are “Angel” (produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats), “Don’t Look Down” (AMAZING dance beat), and power ballads “Still Here” and “Believe”. “Still Here” is one of my favorite songs on this album. It is a beautiful, powerful ballad about losing someone, but believing they are still here with you. I can only imagine the inspiration of this song came from the murder of her mother, brother, and nephew in 2008. Also on this album are the songs “Feeling Good” (featured in her Weight Watchers commercials) and her new single “Where You At”.

Last night Jennifer went back to the American Idol stage, where it all started, to sing her new single. She sounded amazing, but I couldn’t get over how great she looked! In April of 2010 Jennifer became a spokesperson for Weight Watchers and since then she has lost 80 pounds. She looks better than ever! Everyone should definitely checkout I Remember Me.
